How to Sponsor Someone for Membership
To be eligible to sponsor a potential new member, a current member must have at least one full calendar year of membership and be in good standing (all dues for the current year should be paid in full) at the time of sponsorship.
By sponsoring someone, the member is vouching for the character of the potential new member(s). The member must provide the following information for those being sponsored:
Sponsorship information should be directed to the Membership Director at oycmembership@gmail.com
If the nominee is invited to join, the sponsor is requested to take the new member(s) on a tour of the Club facilities to acquaint them with how the Club operates and to show them around the property. They should also assure that the new members are familiar with the Guest Policy.
Please advise the new member(s) that they are encouraged to participate in spring and fall clean-up days each season. It is very important that every member give a few hours each spring to prepare the grounds and facility for the coming season and again in the fall to close for the year. Many hands make the job quicker and easier. It is also the reason our dues are so reasonable. Without help from the general membership, jobs and services will need to be hired out and can affect dues.
We need to have each sponsor share this information with new members!

- Name(s) of person/family members to be considered including names of children (with ages if known)
- Mailing address
- Phone contacts
- Email if available
- Family members including names of children (with their ages if known)
- Occupation/employer of adult members
- Are they boat owners? If so, what kind (if known).
