1868 Dr. Horatio Robinson asked Ansin Culver for permission to put up some cottages. He was
looking for a location were General William Seward could recuperate from his war injuries.
Four Families, Dr. Robinson's, General Seward's, BB Snow's and TM Pomeroy's located ar Ensenore,
probably the first residents other than the farmers that were along the lakeshore.
In 1869 the point was being used as the main construction camp by the railroad.
Most of the original residents of the point relocated to the east side of the lake for fear
of tramps that the RR would bring.
In 1870 Ansin Culver sold the property to Elizabeth R. Snow.
P. Hamilton Meyers wrote the epoch poem "Ensenore".
Location of the early hotel, Ensenore Glen House where Mr. Clark was the proprietor.

The point was one of the stops for the trains, with a freight house, ticket sales, store, and the transfer point for lake residents taking steamers to their camps.

In 1890 Mrs. Snow sold the north side to Julia P. Osborne (Mrs. John) which was recently the
home of Sam V. Kennedy Jr.
