The State Road bordering the north side of Emerson Park which runs between State Rt 38 and Rt 34 is the shortest State Road Rt 437.

     1835 Built Big Dam to Control Water Level.
     1840 Started Straightening Outlet to Insure Waterpower for Industry in Auburn.
     1868 Dredged Outlet and Built Up Island.
     1891 Auburn City Railway Extended to Park. Last Stop on Auburn-Syracuse Electric RR.
     1893 Built the Auburn Pumping Station.


The Pumphouse

     1905 Seawall Built to Control Siltation In Outlet.
     1913 Great Flood.

     1913 Original Pavilion Burned Down and Then Replaced.
     1930 Park Went Broke and Purchased by Fred Emerson.
     1930 Trolley Ceased Operation.
     1944 Fred Emerson Donated Park to Cayuga County
